Three juveniles were arrested in connection with the gang-related attempted murder and robbery of a 18-year-old man June 11 in Gilroy.

At 12:31 a.m., the man was near Sixth and Dowdy streets when two of the juveniles robbed him and struck him in the head with a blunt object, police said. During the robbery, the teen the two suspects made statements that suggests they were gang members. The victim is not believed to be gang affiliated.

The man was taken to a regional trauma center where he was treated and released. He continues to receive medical treatment for his injuries, police said.

The suspects, two 15-year-olds and a 17-year-old, were on probation at the time of their arrests. When investigators conducted a probation compliance search of one of the suspect’s residences in Watsonville, they found evidence related to the crime, police said.

One of the suspects was arrested on July 3. The other two were arrested today. All three were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, robbery, possession of stolen property and with gang enhancements and remain in custody.
