Tim and Karen Havstad

Tim and I met through my husband’s uncle, a.k.a. my boss. I did not want to meet him. Luckily my boss, his uncle, did not adhere to my wishes and brought him to a party I was attending. Once introduced, I thought he was good looking, but still not interested. He was my boss’s nephew, and there was no way I was going down that road!
At the end of the night, when saying goodbye, Tim kissed my hand and said he really enjoyed meeting me. Suddenly I was interested … very interested. Roll forward six months and I moved in with him. Six months later, engaged. A year later, married. It has been 23 years together; 21 married. We owe a lot to his uncle!
I count myself lucky to have found this man who makes me laugh like no other, has the most expressive eyes and understands I am definitely not perfect, but loves and accepts me anyways. This year could have been very difficult for us, but instead – with his support – it was one of our best. We take the good, the bad and the crazy together and come out better for it. Most of all I love what an amazing father he is to our children and the joy he takes in being their dad.
I am one lucky woman. I know in my heart he will “Hold Me, Kiss Me, Love Me Forever.”
