Not only do I have rescue dogs, but as an “equal opportunity” pet owner I also have three cats.
The cat sitting in the planter is Tootsie, rescued several years ago after being dumped off at Ridgemark Golf Club. Whenever I show this picture of her, I always say, “I don’t grow flowers, I grow cats.”
The cat walking across the floor is my latest addition, Smokey, whose owner passed away and her children didn’t want him. He fits in very well with the rest of his cat family at my house and is just the sweetest boy.
And finally there’s Charlotte, sleeping in “her” chair. Charlotte was born in my shed to a feral cat. All the cats found homes, including momma, but Charlotte stayed with us. She is my lap cat. I can’t sit without her on my lap.
They keep me warm at night and laughing during the day with their antics and playfulness. There are a lot more animals in my house than humans, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
