Here are the Top 5 things to do this weekend:
1. Visions of San Juan: San Juan merchants will be hosting an open house Dec. 15, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with some offering specials and sales as part of “A Holiday Stroll Through Time.” At 5 p.m., visitors can gather in the San Juan State Historic Park on Third Street, for the Twilight Tree Lighting. A stroll tour map and program will be provided at the tree lighting.
2. San Benito Dance Academy’s ‘The Nutcracker’: San Benito Dance Academy will perform “The Nutcracker” at Sherwood Hall, in Salinas, Dec. 15 and 16 at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tickets are $12 for children 4-11 and $15 for those 12 and up. 3. Learn about Buddhist meditation: Gosia Pellarin, the co-founder of Diamond Way Buddhist Centers USA and a co-editor of “Buddhism Today” magazine, will speak at the San Benito County Free Library’s Barbara Memorial Room Dec. 15, from 6 to 7 p.m. about meditation. She has 30 years experience and studied under the guidance of Lama Ole Nydahl. Free meditation will be hosted on Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. at the library. 4. Christmas tree pick-up: There is still time to get a tree. Find them at Bourdet’s, 1271 Los Viboras Road, or Barone’s, 1271 Hillcrest Road, here in San Benito County.
