The San Benito boys basketball team defeated Leland 77-39 in the
opening round of the Independence Tournament on Wednesday.

We played great defense,

We got the ball into the post and got some early baskets. We
were denying the passing lane.

The San Benito boys basketball team defeated Leland 77-39 in the opening round of the Independence Tournament on Wednesday.

Everyone had the chance to play in the game, and 11 players scored, Kaplansky said.

Kyle Sharp led the way for the 3-1 Balers with 29 points. Anthony Butler had 11, Jason Sims had eight and Vince Bautista and Kevin Zanella each had six points.

The Balers will continue tourney play against Santa Teresa tonight at 8:30 p.m.
