10th in the 100 with a time of 13.09 seconds.

In a center meet last Thursday among the Mission Trail Athletic League member schools, Anzar’s Jacob Ortiz recorded a 1:03.02 in the 400-meter dash to take seventh place, while Diego Avila took 10th in the 100 with a time of 13.09 seconds.

The two runners led the Hawks in the meet, which took place in Carmel. Ortiz also took 14th in the long jump (14-04) and 15th in the 100 (13.68), while Avila placed 12th in the 200 (30.03) and 15th in the long jump (13-04).

Also competing was Melissa Weckerle (15.38) and Jeniesha Parra (20.46), who finished in 21st and 22nd, respectively, in the 100 meters, while Krystal Ruiz-Rocha took 14th in the long jump in 9-10. Weckerle also took 11th in the long jump in 12-02.

The Hawks will compete again Thursday in another MTAL center meet, this time in Pacific Grove. Meet time is 3:30 p.m.
