Lucas Haro won the 110 high hurdles race Thursday afternoon against Palma.

The Balers girls and boys track and field teams improved to 3-0 in the league season with commanding victories over North Salinas at Andy Hardin Field on Wednesday.

The teams were so dominate, only four events finished without a Baler in first place.

Behind its speed on the track, the boys team defeated North Salinas 101-41.

San Benito’s David Kret finished first in the 200 meters (24.20) and the 400 meters (55.35). San Benito also placed first in the 4×100 relay with the team of Kret, Cameron, Alex Garratt and Taylor Lothman. San Benito won by more than two seconds with a time of 46.03.

The Balers, with a time of 3:35.54, also took first in the 4×400 relay by nearly 30 seconds. Lothman and Kret were joined with Gabriel Orozco Silva and R.J. Collins in the win.

Individually, Collins also ran well. The sophomore placed first in the 800 meters (2:10.02) and the 1600 meters (4:45.20).

In the throwing events, Zach Szyndrowski placed first in the discus (123-08) and the shot put (45-05).

San Benito’s Lucas Haro placed first in the long jump (18-00) and the triple jump (39-04).

The girls did even better, sweeping 10 events and beating North Salinas 125-14.

Maura Forbush took first in the 200 meters (28.27) and the 400 meters (1:03.98) for San Benito. Forbush also took second in the 1600 meters, an event won by teammate Vanessa Estrada with a time of 5:13.23. Estrada also took first in the 800 meters (2:24.32).

Darian Maroney took first in the 100 meter and 300 meter hurdles. Teammate Kat Breger finished in second.

Krystal Alnas won both throwing events. In the shot put, Alnas won with a throw of 35.08. Alnus won the discus throw with a toss of 129-01.

Breanna Lowther and Jocelyn Soto placed second and third in both events.

San Benito’s next meet is March 29 at Alisal.
