A big rig carrying a trailer with chicken feed overturned Wednesday morning on Highway 152 near the visitor center on the Merced County side of the pass.

The accident has resulted in at least one lane being shut down for cleanup, according to the California Highway Patrol’s incident web page.

The accident was first reported at 6:54 a.m. Wednesday.

The CHP noted in its report that an environmental health unit was responding to the scene at 8:37 a.m. It is unclear if there are any injuries involved.

The wreck involving a trailer full of chicken weed comes after last week’s accident on Cienega Road in which a truck rolled and dumped hundreds of turkey carcasses.
