GILROY – Trial setting for a San Jose police officer from Gilroy charged with illegal sexual contact with two teen boys was delayed Thursday until next month.

A trial date for Patrick D’Arrigo, 44, won’t be determined until Oct. 20 at the earliest, said Lisa McCrary, spokeswoman for the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.

D’Arrigo, a 17-year SJPD patrol officer and former campus officer at San Jose’s Leland High School, faces up to three years, eight months in prison for engaging in sexual activities with a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy, both Gilroy residents D’Arrigo connected with through Craigslist, according to prosecutors.

D’Arrigo was arrested Aug. 31 after he was indicted by a secret grand jury and his home was searched by Gilroy police. He is on paid administrative leave, according to the SJPD.
