Two teenagers from northern Santa Clara County were stabbed following a disagreement at a Morgan Hill house party late Friday night.

The two victims were transported to San Jose Regional Medical Center with critical injuries resulting from the stabbing, but were in “stable” condition as of Monday morning, according to Morgan Hill police Sgt. Troy Hoefling.

One of the victims was stabbed at least nine times – once in the neck and several times in the torso, Hoefling said. The other victim was stabbed once in the neck.

The suspect was arrested about 12 hours after allegedly stabbing the two male victims, Hoefling said. Julio C. Medina, 19 of Morgan Hill, turned himself at the police station, after police had contacted “several” of his family members and friends during their investigation.

The incident happened about 3:20 a.m. Saturday at a home near the intersection of Hill Road and Diana Avenue, Hoefling said.

Medina knew the host of a party that he and others were attending at the home, police said. The two victims – an 18-year-old Sunnyvale resident and a 19-year-old San Jose resident – arrived at the party together, and were invited to the get-together by another attendee.

Hoefling said the investigation so far indicates that all three were welcome at the home, until an argument broke out following an “insult” made by one party to another.

No evidence shows the incident is gang-related, police said.

After they were cut, the victims walked about two-tenths of a mile to a nearby unidentified location, leaving a trail of blood and other evidence on the way, Hoefling said.

The hosts of the party were among those who called police to report the crime, police said.
