A van crashed into a garage and part of its home Saturday afternoon after a vehicle rear-ended it on San Benito Street, according to the Hollister Police Department.
The accident, resulting in minor injuries for the van’s driver, occurred around 12:15 p.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of San Benito Street.
A Dodge Caravan northbound on San Benito Street was turning for a garage sale when it was struck from behind by a Dodge pickup truck, said Sgt. Dan Winn with the HPD. The Caravan drove up the driveway and into the garage and home, he said.
The driver of the Caravan – a 31-year-old woman from Hollister – sustained minor injuries and was transported to Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital. Four child passengers in the van were uninjured, as was the 38-year-old Hollister man driving the truck.
