Despite dropping the first set on the road, the visiting Anzar High girls volleyball team battled back to earn a four-set (20-25, 25-16, 25-13, 25-21) win over host Soledad on Tuesday night behind 15 kills from Alex Flores.
Flores also added 16 assists and six digs for the Hawks, who are now 8-5 in the Mission Trail Athletic League.
Anzar has just one more match in the regular season. It will square off against Santa Catalina on Thursday in Monterey. Match time is 6 p.m.
On Tuesday in Soledad, Anzar received strong performances from several different team members. Carly Johnson had 28 digs and Jessica Frusetta added 19 digs, while Sydnee Masuen compiled 18 assists and 11 services aces.
