While it is true that these improvements will invariably result in higher sewer bills, in my opinion the ultimate goal will be to develop a water and wastewater infrastructure that will attract new businesses and industries, create more local jobs and overall improve our quality of life. It is envisioned that one day soon, home owners will enjoy high quality tap water without the necessity for water softeners and/or home water filters (reverse osmosis devices) because municipal water treatment plants will have made them obsolete.

I truly appreciate City Manager Dale Shaddox’ executive vision and fiscal discipline. There are tough choices to be made ahead, but the citizenry should have confidence in Shaddox’ competence and performance.

Thank you Mayor Bruscia and Council members LoBue, Conroy, Scattini and Valdivia. Keep up the good work and Happy Holidays!

Mike Smith,

Hollister
