The widow of late basketball camp organizer Gene Cotter is starting a foundation in her late husband’s name.

Tiffany Cotter attended last week’s community meeting to share ideas for McCarthy Street Park, where community residents and organizers met to kickstart a rehabilitation process.

There, Cotter announced she is starting the foundation called Live Like Geno.

She mentioned how there’s demand for basketball in town—noting how she has seen adults with headlights glaring on Maze Middle School courts at night in the dark so they could play. She was among speakers who talked about fixing up the McCarthy Street Park basketball courts, which are fairly rundown.

Gene Cotter died in a vehicle accident in July 2016 and was survived by his wife and two children. He founded and ran the popular Basketball Jones Hoop Camps.
