Was that a lie?
Dear Editor,

The casino promoters strongly implied that if they could not get community support for their business, they would take it elsewhere. Was that a lie?

They do not have support of the majority of the community, nor do they have support our county supervisors, yet by their own words in the Free Lance today, it would seem that they are determined to build here regardless of the wishes or support of those who live, work and raise their families here.

It is clear that they view this community as weak compared to other neighboring counties and are hoping that if they “get tough” with us we will turn a blind eye to the havoc a casino would create here in Hollister.

It would be terrific if a reporter from your fine paper would confront the casino backers with this apparent contradiction. I would love to hear them clarify their position on community support for the entire community to hear.
