Fans of the San Benito High wrestling team who will be in attendance tonight when the Haybalers host Gilroy High at Mattson Gym have been asked to where “Hollister Red” to show their support for the team.

The idea, San Benito wrestling head coach Brian DeCarli said, is to fill the gymnasium with red – or have a “red out.”

The team will be selling red Hollister wrestling shirts for $10 at the meet, although fans are encouraged to where any red shirt they may own.

Meanwhile, DeCarli said 28 wrestlers – 14 on the varsity and 14 on the junior varsity – each passed out a single red shirt to a teacher at the high school who has meant something to them, in order to show appreciation as the season winds down.

The junior varsity will kick off Tuesday’s meet at 5:30 p.m., and the varsity will follow shortly thereafter.

This weekend the Tri-County Athletic League Championships will be held. On Friday, the JV meet will be at 4 p.m., while the varsity meet will begin Saturday at 10 a.m.

The TCAL Championships will be held at Palma High in Salinas.
