SANTA CLARA — The Silicon Valley is ready to rumble.

Santa Clara Mayor Jamie Matthews — along with the Cities of Santa Clara and San Jose, the San Francisco 49ers and the WWE — announced Monday that WrestleMania 31 will be held in Levi’s Stadium on March 29, 2015.

“On behalf of the entire Silicon Valley, we are grateful that WWE chose Levi’s Stadium to host its largest annual celebration in 2015,” Matthews said. “WrestleMania is certain to be one of the highlights of the stadium’s inaugural year.”

The announcement was made at a press conference at the Santa Clara Convention Center.  Mayor Matthews, Executive Director of the San Jose Sports Authority Patricia Ernstrom, Chief Executive Officer of the San Francisco 49ers Jed York and San Francisco 49ers Tight End Vernon Davis joined WWE Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Vince McMahon, WWE Executive Vice President of Creative Stephanie McMahon and WWE Executive Vice President of Special Events John P. Saboor in making the announcement. Also in attendance was WWE Superstars John Cena, Alberto Del Rio, Big Show, Sheamus, Mark Henry, Fandango, The Great Khali, R-Truth and WWE Divas Brie Bella, Nikki Bella and Summer Rae.

“We are proud to bring WWE’s premier event, WrestleMania, to Silicon Valley, and grateful for the tireless efforts the City of Santa Clara, the City of San Jose and the San Francisco 49ers have put forth to make this dream become a reality,” Vince McMahon said. “The innovative technology and connectivity at Levi’s Stadium will set a new standard of customer service for our fans and ensure they have the most interactive experience in WrestleMania history.”
WrestleMania 31 will cap off a week-long celebration with events throughout the Bay Area. A four-day interactive fan festival, WrestleMania Axxess , will be held at the San Jose Convention Center and the SAP Center will play host to the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Monday Night Raw. Anti-bullying rallies known as Be a STAR, hospital visits and other pro-social activities will take place in an effort to give back to the host community.
WrestleMania 29 at MetLife Stadium generated more than $100 million in economic impact for New York/New Jersey region last year and will be held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on April 6.
