Regarding the letter “Flores’ Family Deserves More,” as Richard Flores’ brother, I agree about Ms. Botts but disagree about Judge Sanders. He had sole discretion in this case during sentencing.
My family will move on without my brother and God will be just in his judgment someday. For me personally, I appreciate this letter. At least someone has been impacted by this tragedy.
And maybe, just maybe, people in the surrounding counties will begin to realize that drinking and driving is dangerous, illegal and can kill anyone who happens to be in the wrong place and the wrong time and that includes your family members.
My family is strong and we will get through this the best we can. We will always remember Richard. We will also become stronger through his loss and keep him safe in our hearts.
Anyone reading this, please, if you drink don’t drive and if you see a friend who is intoxicated, please take them home or call a taxi. You could save a life.
