Baler center fielder Ellie Burley dives for a line drive during Thursday's 4-0 win over Leland in the CCS semi-finals. San Benito will face Carlmont Saturday afternoon for the CCS championship at San Jose Municipal Stadium.

For the third time since 2007, the San Benito High softball and baseball teams will play in their Central Coast Section championship in the same year.

The two teams, though, are still trying to win the championship together.

The softball team will go for its seventh-straight CCS title at 12:30 Saturday at PAL Stadium in San Jose. The No. 3 seeded Balers (21-3) will be the visitors to No. 1 seed Carlmont (23-3).

The Balers enter the championship game on a four-game winning streak where they have outscored opponents 31-2. San Benito Megan Sabbatini has not allowed a run in two postseason games.

Attempting to win the school’s first CCS championship – despite winning seven-straight Tri-County Athletic League championships – the baseball team will need to outlast its third-straight West Catholic League opponent in Valley Christian (24-8). First pitch is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at San Jose Municipal Stadium.

San Benito (23-6) upset St. Francis 6-4 on Wednesday to advance to the championship game.

It’s the second-straight year the baseball has team made it to the CCS finale. Last year, San Benito lost 5-4 to Palo Alto on a walk-off single in the seventh inning.

San Benito High is the only school with a team in the championship game in both softball and baseball this year.
