Supervisors on Tuesday are set to consider terms of a settlement agreement with departed County Administrative Officer Rich Inman and also appoint an unnamed interim CAO who currently works for the county.
San Benito County supervisors will consider the items at their 9 a.m. Tuesday meeting at the County Administration Building, 481 Fourth St.
Inman announced his resignation Oct. 11 after about two years in the county’s top administrative post. His latest compensation data reported to the state notes his salary was about $135,000 annually.
While supervisors are set to approve a settlement agreement with Inman on Tuesday – he would receive a check for three months of his salary in January after completing three months of receiving administrative leave pay following his departure – they also will consider his temporary replacement at the same meeting.
The agenda report for the meeting includes the item for the replacement, but does not identify the person. It does indicate the CAO job would be filled by a current employee, whose contract would include a stipulation that he can return to his current position after the CAO duties are done.
That interim CAO is set to receive his current salary plus a stipend equal to about $10,000 in annual pay, according to the agenda.
As for Inman, he is receiving his regular compensation through Jan. 13 while officially on leave and then another three months after that as well. He does not receive health benefits from the county, according to the documents.
