Carmen Hidalgo Clevenger, born May 13, 1940, in Delano, CA to Rafael and Josefa Hidalgo, she moved to Gilroy with her family as a child.
Carmen passed away quietly on February 9, 2011, at her sister’s home in Gilroy surrounded by family. She fought a brave but short battle with cancer. She was a wonderful wife, sister, aunt and daughter. She will be deeply missed by all.
Carmen lived in Sunnyvale, CA with her husband Don Clevenger, to whom she was married for 36 years. After retiring from Fairchild Semi-Conductor, Carmen and Don relocated to Kelseyville to relax and enjoy the view of Clear Lake.
She is survived by her husband Don Clevenger, Kelseyville and her little dog Lovey whom she loved deeply. Brothers Henry and Ralph Hidalgo (Gwen), Campbell, sisters Ramona Renteria (Mike) Delano, Gloria Garcia (Gil), Mary Angulo (Bob), and Rita Heredia (Max) all of Gilroy, sister in law Olivia Hidalgo (Joe) of Bakersfield. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends behind.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Mike, Joe and Herbert Hidalgo, her niece Susie Hidalgo and her nephew Dino Garcia.
A burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery on February 26, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. for immediate family and friends.
