John was born in San Jose and attended Lincoln High School. He left school; joined the Navy – submarine division; and worked for GE nuclear division for 26 years.
He is survived by his children: Bev and Dan Castillo of Pacifica: Steve Pacheco of San Martin: John and Kami Pacheco of Los Gatos and Shawna and Chris Hoover of San Martin and his grandchildren; Christopher, Danielle, Jennell, Jessica, Justin and Tyler.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Emily Pacheco, who were both born in Kawai, HI. John also leaves his sister Jean and her husband Doug Ferris of Spokane, WA and his brother Jerry and his wife Judy Pacheco of Brookings, OR.
John had a green thumb and could grow anything. He loved music, especially jazz and played several musical instruments – his favorite was the Sax.
He was much loved by his children, family and many friends.
