Myrtle was born on January 5, 1920, in Maple Hill, KS. She passed away at the Mabie Skilled Nursing Center in Hollister on May 4, 2011.

Myrtle attended school and married Everett Dillon in 1935 in Kansas. They came to California in 1935 and settled in Gilroy. Myrtle and Ed were married for 75 years until his death on April 4, 2011.

Myrtle worked for Gentry in Gilroy for approximately 20 years until her retirement. They moved to Hollister in 1975 to be closer to their daughter and her family.

Myrtle was an accomplished seamstress, designing and sewing clothes for herself, her daughter, and granddaughters. She also restored and altered her antique clothes to wear on tours. Myrtle also did home canning, from fruits and vegetables to fresh Alaska Chinook Salmon caught by her and her husband.

She enjoyed reading and was always eager to learn new things. Myrtle and her late husband, Ed, were past members of the Antique Automobile Club. They toured in their restored antique cars throughout the United States and Canada. Myrtle could be found along side her husband restoring, reupholstering, and working on their antique cars.

Myrtle enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and playing cards with her husband, family, and friends. Myrtle could be found up on the roof when building two of their homes. She designed the homes and even had her own set of tools.

Myrtle and her husband enjoyed traveling by motor home throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Their travels also included a trip to Ireland. Family and friends were very important to Myrtle. She enjoyed hosting dinner parties, fancy to casual, holiday dinners, and family gatherings.

Myrtle is survived by daughter Virgie Alosi, grandchildren Janice Alosi (Gregg Bonturi) of Hollister; Gerald Alosi (Laurie) of Hollister, and Susan Calleri (Robert) of Tres Pinos; great-grandchildren Kenneth and Daniel Calleri of Tres Pinos; Katherine and Breanna Alosi of Hollister; five sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrytle was predeceased by her husband Everett Dillon, parents Glen and Lillian Adams, brothers James and Edward Adams, and on-in-law Peter Alosi.

As per her wishes no funeral services will be held. Private inurnment will be held next to her late husband Everett at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Hollister.

Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association c/o the funeral home chapel.
