Bret Borges passed away in his home after a long illness on June 16, 2010. Bret was born March 6, 1966 in Watsonville, CA and moved with his family to Hollister when he was just a few months old. Bret attended local schools until the family moved to Hawaii when he was 7. When he turned 13, they moved back to Hollister where he attended and graduated from Calvary Christian School. During his high school years he enjoyed playing on the sports teams and served in the local Little League as an umpire. After high school he married his wife, Julie, and they were married for 23 years. Bret worked as a dispatcher most of his adult life. He enjoyed spending time with his nephews and nieces, baseball, collecting baseball cards, playing golf, all varieties of music, especially jazz, fireworks, enjoyed riding his motorcycle with friends and family, and was very generous and giving.

Bret is survived by Julie, his wife of 23 years, his mother Donna Landon of Milton, FL, father John Borges (Dana) of Shady Cove, OR, and brothers David Borges (Suzanne) of Milton, Florida, and Tom Borges (Sue) of Quilcene, Washington, and many, many, nephews and nieces.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass of The Resurrection and a celebration of Bret’s life on Friday, June 25th at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church 5th & College Streets, Hollister. Private inurnment will be held.
