Manuel J. Rodriguez, 64, of Gilroy, a retired Meat Cutter and serviceman at Baxter’s Tires, passed away at his home on Thursday August 19,2010.

Mr. Rodriguez was born Dec. 2, 1945, in Crystal City, TX. A 50 year resident of Gilroy, he retired in 2008. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of Vietnam.

Manuel is survived by his father, Dave F. Galtman Sr; two daughters and their spouses, Cheryl (Larry) Clark and Carol (Art) Mancera, both of Gilroy; two sons, Victor (Julie) Garcia of San Jose and David Rodriguez of Gilroy; two brothers, Dave (Gloria) Galtman and Bob Galtman; a sister, Patricia “Olivia” (Tony) Maquinalez, all of Gilroy; Grandchildren; Daniel Garcia of San Jose, Dominique Mancera of Rhonert Park, Shante Mancera of Gilroy, Sara Garcia of Fresno, Joshua Garcia and Isaiah Garcia of San Jose and Ziggy of Gilroy.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was a BBQ master and Rastafarian.

Evening services will be held at Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday Aug. 24, 2010. Funeral services will be at l0:00 A.M. on Wednesday Aug. 25, 2010, with interment at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park in Gilroy following procession.
