Rickey Contival passed away suddenly in Oroville, CA at the age of 46 years doing what he loved the most, going on a fishing trip. “Rick was loved by many and will remain in our hearts forever”, said his family. Rick was a native of Hollister and was a graduate of San Benito High school. He was a active member of the Western Bass Masters Association.

Rick was predeceased by his mother Colleen Contival who passed away in 1987 and his spouse Sharon Contival who passed away this year. Surviving Rick are his father Pierre “Jeff’ Contival, his brother Cory Contival and partner Pamela Perriera, his grandmother Lena Dodgin, his aunts Joyce Bowman and Myrt Bettencourt all of Hollister; his aunt Cheryl Larios of Newman, CA; his fishing partner Carl Porta of Redwood City; and numerous cousins and other relatives. Friends are invited to a Celebration of Rickey’s life on Saturday, October 2nd, 2010, beginning at 1:00 P.M. at the Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home 870 San Benito St., Hollister. Cremation and private inurnment will be held.
