Passed away in Long Barn, CA at the age of 86. He was born in Attica, OH and lived in Hollister for many years prior to moving to Long Barn in 1987, after building his own home there. He worked for many years for Saufnauer Plumbing and served his country honorably in the US Navy during WWII. He is a 53 year member of Mound Lodge #166 IOOF. He and his wife, Mary Jane, were married in 1945 in Hollister.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Valentine of Long Barn, CA, his children and their spouses, Thomas and Anna Valentine of Hollister, Richard and Elaine Valentine of Seaside, Bruce Valentine of Hollister, Kathy and Milton Montgomery of Canada and Rosemary and Luis Garcia of Miami, FL., his sister and brothers, Mary Hudson of Fremont, OH, Stanley Valentine of Fremont, OH and Robert Valentine of Sandusky, OH and numerous grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, David Buck and six brothers and two sisters.

Memorial services will be held on January 24, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at The IOOF Lodge in Hollister. A reception will follow the services at the lodge hall. Officers of Mound Lodge #166 will officiate.

Interment of Mr. Valentine’s cremated remains will be on January 23, 2009 at 10:00 A.M.

Donations are preferred to a charity of choice in memory of Mr. Valentine.
