Robert A. Funk of Hollister, CA passed quietly at home on January 5, 2009 at the esteemed age of 92 years.

He was born March 28, 1916, in Zullinger, PA to the late Laban Henry and Clara Mabel Funk. Robert worked as a master machinist for 38 years in Connecticut before retiring to California. He excelled at his profession and was especially proud of helping build the Hubble Space Telescope while employed with Perkin Elmer. His creative talents included fine furniture making and bird watching.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Funk, of 59 years. He is survived by his brother Martin Funk of Perry, GA., Donald Funk of Bethel Park, PA. and his three sons, David Mark. Funk and his wife Christy of Reno, NV, Samuel Robert Funk and Vanda of Hollister, CA, Donald Henry Funk and Marcia of Sandy Hook, CT and five loving grandchildren Mark E. Funk, Sonia C. Joy, John R. Funk, Robert T. Funk, and Jacob M. Funk.

Services will be held at the burial at 10:00 A.M., Monday January 12, 2009 at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, Ca. with Rev. David Rodriguez officiating.
