Super Sunday in South County for the Super Bowl
Wow, did you watch that Super Bowl on Sunday? It was one of the
best ones I’ve seen in a long time. It looked like it was going to
be a blowout in the first quarter, but, Kurt Warner and the
Cardinals made an impressive comeback and almost won the game. I
wish they would have, being the underdogs and all, but, in the end,
Big Ben pulled off the win. The commercials were a letdown, but the
game was a good one.

Billy and Karen Whitney hosted a Super Bowl party at their new residence at the Peachtree Ranch. That is such a beautiful home and such a pretty ranch. Some of those attending the housewarming/super bowl party included Vern and Jo Ann Scattini, Andy and Tamra Barrington and Mike and Brandi Garza.

The Lady Mustangs pulled off a couple of more impressive wins last week. Mad Dog (Mattie Barrington) and Pitbull (Sierra Sans) were on the hunt against the Pacific Grove Breakers last Friday night. Mattie and Carolyn Madson both scored an impressive 18 points against the Breakers and both girls continue to be at the top of the stat leader boards within the MTAL. This week the Lady Mustangs play in two very big games. Wednesday night they traveled to Gonzales to take on the second place Spartans, then, tonight they play at home in a battle for first place against their rival, Santa Catalina. Both games should be exciting, but Friday is the big one. Be sure to come if you can and head on over to the Mustang gym to cheer your Lady Mustangs on.

Groundhog Day was on Monday, and, according to Phil, we’re in for another six weeks of winter. I wish Phil would come out here and bring some winter weather with him! We could sure use another six weeks of rain. Keep your fingers crossed for some more wet weather this week.

Have a great week, and be sure to give me a call or e-mail at
