Janet A. Kelly, born October 16, 1956 in Hollister, passed away suddenly on April 12, 2009 following a short illness. Janet was a native of San Benito County, attended Southside Elementary School and graduated from San Benito High School with the class of 1973.
Janet was a devoted mother – eager to lend a hand in support of her daughter’s involvement in school, theatre, and dance. She was an active volunteer for the Tres Pinos School Parents Club, the San Benito Stage Company, the San Benito Dance Academy, and San Benito High School Drama Club. The San Benito County Community Foundation honored Janet in 2009 by awarding her their Philanthropist of the Year award.
She is survived by her daughter, Tess Kelly; her brother and sister-in-law, Kerry & Jeanette Maroney of Tres Pinos, CA; her brother and sister-in-law, Jim & Terry Cogswell of Turlock, CA; her step-son Bob Kelly and his wife Danylle and their children, Robbie and Lane and her step-son Cory Kelly, his wife Sheri and their daughter Paris; her nieces, Katie Cogswell, and Mary Rowan and her husband Jeb; her nephew, Eric Cogswell and his wife Allissa; her great-niece & nephews: Carlie & Craig Rowen and Collin, Audrey & Emily Cogswell.
A memorial service will be held this Saturday, April 18th at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito St., Hollister.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tess Kelly Scholarship Fund in care of Rabo Bank, Hollister Branch 491 Tres Pinos Road.
