Jackie Borina passed away peacefully on March 29, 2008 in Los Gatos at the age of 83. Born on July 6, 1924, on the island of Lumbarda, Korcula in the former Yugoslavia, Jackie immigrated to the United States with her parents and sister, Betty, initially settling in San Pedro, CA. While visiting an Aunt in San Francisco, Jackie met Nick Borina at a wedding. The couple married, settling in Santa Clara County, where they worked growing and harvesting the finest cherries and other crops in San Jose and in Morgan Hill. Jackie was a homemaker, with a talent in cooking special home-cooked meals for her family, friends and relatives while supporting her husband, Nick, Sr. in his agricultural and business endeavors. Jackie is survived by her children, Julie (Mark), Florence, Marianne and Nick, Jr. and six grandchildren, Don, Kelsey, Lauren, Katherine, Joshua, and James. Also survived by her sister Betty (Paul), many cousins, nieces and nephews and Jackie’s special pet, “Boo-Boo”. Her husband Nick, preceded her in death in death in 2003. They were married for 55 years.
