Born in Cleveland, Ohio to Morton and Dorothie Leavitt, he passed away at home in Morgan Hill, CA on Tuesday July 22nd, 2008 after a long battle with Multiple System Atrophy. He is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Karen; his children Alison and Eric; his mother Dorothie; his brother Jeffery; niece Katie; nephew Benjamin; and many other close family and friends.

Andrew was an Engineer employed by NASA for 37 years, before retiring in 2005. He loved smoking his pipe while restoring his antique cars, gardening, painting garden gnomes, which he placed randomly around his garden, and going on adventures with his wife and children.

He wished to be cremated. A memorial gathering will be held at his home on August 2nd, 2008.
