Margaret Leila Chapman Ames died peacefully at home on February 3, 2007. She will be dearly missed by her family, who will always know that having her as their mother is one of God’s greatest blessings.
Throughout her life’s journey, Margaret spent her childhood on Marrowstone Island, Peuget Sound. She graduated from Loma Linda University and San Francisco State College with degrees in nursing and liberal arts. She married at the end of WWII and accompanied her husband on several US State Department foreign assignments. No matter where she was, she always ingratiated herself into the community and local culture, quietly fulfilling her life’s purpose of helping and supporting others through our Lord.

Nieces and Nephews: Christofer (Ester) Chapman, Loma Linda, CA, Yvonne (Gregory) Fankhanel, Lorna Linda, CA, Regenia and (James) Campbell Annis, Reno, Nevada, Gary Campbell, Campbell, CA, Matthew (Denise) Chapman, Franklin, TN, Martin Chapman, Franklin, TN, Dewey (Janice), Portland, Oregon, Deborah (Warwick) Bates, Australia, and many Great-Grand nephews, nieces and cousins.
A private memorial service will be held at 12 noon 3-17-07 at the family home. The family wishes to thank all those special people who have been so supportive during this difficult time.
