Frank “Panchito” Garcia passed away in Hollister. He was born in Querendaro, Michoacan, Mexico and lived in San Benito County for over 50 years. He is preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Garcia, who died in 1989 and worked in agriculture and in the cannery. He originally came here with the Bracero Program and worked for Gilroy Foods. He was a member of the Teamster’s Union and Jehovah’s Witnesses.

He is survived by his children, Justino Garcia and Elizabeth Garcia, both of Hollister, his sister and brothers, Soledad Jaurigue of Hollister, Roberto Garcia and Salvador Garcia, both of Mexico, his grandchildren, Steve Garcia, Frank Garcia, Justino Garcia, Ernesto Garcia, Luis Garcia, Eric Garcia and Janette Garcia and his 7 great-grandchildren.

Friends can pay their respects on Tuesday, April 24th from 12:00 noon until 9:00 P.M. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. Prayer services will be at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home, with interment to follow at the IOOF Cemetery.

Donations are preferred to Jovenes de Antano, c/o the funeral home.
