Long time resident of Morgan Hill, Art Malmstrom passed away December 1 at his retirement home in Pioneer, California. Malmstrom and family moved to Morgan Hill in 1972 and resided there for 30 years.

Both surviving daughters, Lisa Malmstom Flores and Brita Malmstrom Salt attended local schools and graduated from Live Oak. Art and family were very involved with the Morgan Hill Swim Club for many years.

Art was born in Springfield, Massachusetts and married Judith Prosser on Sept. 8, 1962, recently celebrating their 45th anniversary

Besides wife and daughters, he leaves 6 grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jacob, Kylie and Jared Flores and Dylan and Natalie Salt and mother-in-law, Florence Prosser, three cousins, two nephews and one niece who resides in the East.

During his past 8 years of illness, he accomplished two goals; traveling by RV to each of the 48 states, cruising to Hawaii and in June, to Alaska………marking all 50 states. Second goal was to see an MLB game at every one of the 30 parks……….accomplished in 2004. Even picked up 4 minor league games on the road. In June he celebrated his 70th birthday on Holland America Cruise with his wife, daughters, their husbands, and mother in law.

He bravely battled lung and brain cancer after a leg amputation due to PAD.

If anyone would like to make donations in his honor, the family suggests that they be made to the American Lung Association or Hospice of Amador County.
