Mellie Boyce, 75, passed on to our Lord Monday evening at her home in San Jose, California. She was surrounded by her daughters, sisters and brothers-in-law. Mellie is survived by her daughters; Vivian Holmes, Barbara Glaspy, Debra Heilman and Diane Baty; her sons-in-law; David Holmes, David Glaspy, Kevin Heilman, and Jim Baty; her sisters; Anna Hayes, Betty Stiers, Joyce Daily and her brothers-in-law; Mackinley Stiers and Bill Daily, her 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Mellie was preceded in death by her son, Carl Ray Boyce. Mellie cherished time spent with her family, vacationing with them as often as possible. Her home was considered the gathering place for both her immediate and many extended family members.

Mellie was employed for 32 years as a quality control engineer for the Memorex Corporation, but had been retired for the past 15 years.

She enjoyed reading, listening to hymns, the company of the ones she loved, and watching Jeopardy. She will be greatly missed, even as she lives on within each of us.

A celebration of Mellie’s life will be held at Church of the Chimes, 1447 Bryan Ave., San Jose, California on Saturday, December 8th at 3:30 P.M. Donations in lieu of flowers can be sent to Vitas Hospice (www.vitascharityfund.org)the organization that helped make her final days very peaceful and special for all concerned.
