Armand A. Holthouse, born to Mark & Anna Holthouse of Mountain View, passed away Tuesday afternoon at 91 years old. Armand “Bud” Holthouse is survived by his wife of 71 years, Renee M. Holthouse of San Juan Bautista. Also surviving are his five sons, Dennis, (Bev), Ken, (Lisa), Bruce, (Kathy), Brian, (Cynthia) and Craig, (Natalie), Holthouse, all of San Benito County.

Grandchildren include Rick Holthouse of San Francisco, CA, Robin Dierksen of Rocklin, CA, Amanda Holthouse of Azusa, CA, Katy and Justin Holthouse of Vallejo, CA, Carol Beth Holthouse of Santa Cruz, CA and Clint, Sarah and Hank Holthouse of San Juan Bautista, also one great-granddaughter, Sierra Dierksen of Rocklin.

Bud was preceded in death by a son, Richard Kevin and a daughter, Jeanne Mary, his parents, Mark and Anna and brothers, Theodore, Vernon, Wilfred, Fred and Hugh Holthouse, William Hill and sister, Nadine Raines.

Bud moved to San Juan Bautista from Mountain View and purchased his ranch, Rancho San Justo, in the San Juan Foothills in 1947. He was very active in the county through the years in the 4-H Programs and Future Farmers of America. He was past president and long time member of the San Benito County Cattlemen’s Association. Bud served as San Benito High School Board Member/ Trustee in the 1950’s and 60’s, was a member of the San Benito County Historical Society and was very active in his beloved parish church, Mission San Juan Bautista.

Services have been held.
