Marie K. Rivera (Diaz), born 11/23/23, passed away 12/5/06. Born in Sanger, CA, of German descent. Raised in Hollister, CA. Lived in Gilroy from 1941 to 1967, then moved to San Jose, CA. Preceded in death by her husbands; Joe L. Rivera and Benny D. Diaz, Sr., son Benny D. Diaz, Jr., her daughter-in-laws; Nancy A. Diaz and Sinah D. Diaz, and her grandson Teddy A. Diaz.
She leaves her sons; Peter D. Diaz of Gilroy, Clarence L. Diaz of Atlantic Beach, FL, Arthur T. Diaz and his wife Connie of Gilroy, Joey J. Rivera of San Jose, CA, her brothers; Bill Lasseter and his wife Barbara of Hollister, Lawrence Lasseter of Seattle, WA, John Lasseter and his wife Jean of Lebanon, OR, and sister Etta Rosemond of Sunnyvale, CA, eleven grandchildren, 14 great-grand-children, two great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She loved to cook for her family, her specialty was Mexican food. She worked at Gentry’s for ten years, and was an avid collector of Garfield, to which she dedicated one entire room. She loved her family and life.
A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. Sunday, Dec. 10th, at Gilroy Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1575 Mantelli Dr.
