Mercedes Sanchez died Tuesday evening at Hazel Hawkins Hospital.
She was born in Puerto Rico and was 80 years old. She came to
Hollister from Puerto Rico 24 years ago and was a homemaker. She
and her husband, Luis Diaz Perez were married in 1955 in Puerto
Rico.

She is survived by her husband, Luis Diaz Perez of Hollister; her children, Cruz Sanchez of Newman, Albertino Perez of Hollister, Ramon Perez of Hollister, Orlando Perez of Hollister, Nereida Moll of Hollister, Gladys Perez of Hollister, Orquidea Sanchez of Hollister and Luis Perez Jr. of Hollister. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by eight children.
Friends can pay their respects on Monday, Feb. 21 from 9am until 12:30pm at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home and then proceed to the IOOF Cemetery where a graveside service will be held at 1pm. Albertino Perez will officiate.
