Martha Salas, 63, passed away at her home Sunday, March 7 after
a lengthy illness.
Martha Salas, 63, passed away at her home Sunday, March 7 after a lengthy illness.
She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She devoted her life by raising her grandchildren. Her passions were caring for and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Laurie Ponce (husband Eddie) of Salinas; grandchildren, Vanessa Barbettini (husband Justin) of Japan, Marty Louise Salinas, Jesse Salinas Jr., Jason Salinas, Salina Marie Salinas all of Gilroy and Reyna Victoria Lara from Texas; great-grandchildren, John Ross Molina Jr., Julius Aaron Salinas both of Gilroy and Jasmine Leanne Barbettini from Japan; siblings Sylvia Caudill (husband Curtis), Dora Mendoza (husband Raul), Victoria Hernandez, and Robert Salas all of Gilroy, Helen Morris of Los Banos, Ernestine Navarro (husband Ismael), and Charles Salas (wife Susanna) both from Southern California; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe “Pepe” Sanchez; father and mother, Raymundo Sr. and Marty Salas ; and brother Raymundo Salas Jr.
Visitation will be Friday, March 12 at 1pm at Habing Family Funeral Home. Graveside Services will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy at 2:00 PM.
