Maria S. Galvan died suddenly Monday afternoon at the age of 83
in Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital.
 She was born in Texas and has lived in Hollister for 44
years.
Maria S. Galvan died suddenly Monday afternoon at the age of 83 in Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital. She was born in Texas and has lived in Hollister for 44 years.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and has been a homemaker all her adult life.

She was the wife of the late Antonio Galvan who died in 1977. She was the mother of Tully Galvan of San Jose, Victor Galvan of Fresno, Freddy Galvan of San Juan Bautista, David Galvan of San Jose, John Galvan of Hollister, Ramon Galvan of Nevada, Raul Galvan and Elisa Corral both of Hollister, and the late Pedro and Ruben Galvan; sister of Natividad Salazar of Seattle, Wash., Tony Salazar of San Jose and the late Marcia and Frank Salazar. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home, today, Wednesday, from 9am to 8pm with the rosary offered tonight at 7pm. Funeral services will be Thursday morning, leaving the funeral home at 9:30am and proceeding to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for a funeral Mass commencing at 10am. Graveside services and burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
