Kathryn Baldrige Bullock Fitch, born March 2, 1911, in Bellefonte, Penn., died March 28, 2004, in Gardnerville, Nev., of natural causes at age 94.

She moved to Reno in 1965 and lived in the area for 45 years. In 2001, she moved to Douglas County, Nev. to be close to her daughter.

She was a career Army officer’s wife and mother of four children. She loved the role she played in her husband’s career, and together they saw a good part of the world. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Eastern Star and Republican Women’s clubs. While in Reno-Sparks she was a member of the 20th Century Club, the Opera Guild and the Community Concert Association. She enjoyed playing bridge as often as she could as well as social and casino activities.

Caring for four children, moving from post to post and fulfilling the social and civic responsibilities required of an Army wife were her “career.”

Her husband, Colonel Henry B. Fitch, who had been a dental surgeon in the Army and at the Nevada State Hospital in Reno, preceded her in death Jan. 21, 1979. Her son, Henry B. Fitch Jr. preceded her in death Dec. 27, 1994.

Surviving are her son Col. John Fitch and his wife, Rosaleen, formerly Rose Keeler, both of Hollister since 1982; her daughters Peggy Clemmer, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Susan Spencer, of Sunridge, Nev.; three grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.

As per her instructions, there will be no services. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Walton’s Funeral Home, Carson City, Nev.

Inurnment will be with her husband in the Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C.
