She was a lifetime resident of San Benito County and graduated from San Benito High School. She was a homemaker, housewife and former secretary for Winn Insurance.
Mrs. Ivelich-Kashersky was a member of Old Mission San Juan Bautista, Catholic Daughters, N.D.G.W. of San Juan Bautista, S.D.E.S. of Hollister, and a Y.L.I. member for 55 years. She was very active in the bi-annual SBHS Class of 1946 reunion and was the last queen of the Portuguese Celebration of San Juan Bautista.
She is preceded in death by her husband George Ivelich, who died in 1969.
She is survived by her husband Bill Kashersky, of San Juan Bautista, daughter Mary Doughty, of Salinas, a son living in Arizona, step-daughter Vicki Green, of Mission Viejo, and step-son Bill Kashersky, of Cincinnati, Ohio. She is also survived by siblings Arthur Corcell, of Prunedale, and Edna Souza, of Hollister, and grandchildren Tony Ivelich and Michelle Garcia, of Gilroy, Matthew Doughty and Christina Jones, of Salinas, and Brandon, Brian and Corey Kashersky, of Mission Viejo. She’s also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home on Monday from 1 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday from the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. and will proceed to Old Mission San Juan Bautista for a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial and graveside services will follow at San Juan District Cemetery.
Contributions are preferred to the Mission San Juan Bautista Building Fund.
