Longtime Hollister resident Louise T. Hatton passed away in
Salinas, Calif. on July 29, 2004 at the age of 80.
Longtime Hollister resident Louise T. Hatton passed away in Salinas, Calif. on July 29, 2004 at the age of 80.
A native of San Martin, Louise resided in San Benito County since 1923. Her education was received at Sacred Heart School, San Benito High School and San Benito Junior College. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, a life member of the P.T.A., the Young Ladies Institute and the U.S. Cabot Association (Ladies Auxillary for Navy personel). She was also a 4-H sewing leader for Union 4-H, a Member of Golden Age Retirement Home Auxillary, which she made quilts for them to raffle for fund raising.
Louise had a baby sitting service for many years and “many of her children to this day still called her Auntie Louise” said her family. She also worked as a telephone operator during WWII at the Hollister Telephone Company. Teaching sewing at the Fabric Center when it was located on San Benito Street was one of her primary activities that she enjoyed the most.
Louise was the wife of the late Earl B. Hatton who passed away in December 1987.
She is survived by her sons Bert Hatton of Honolulu, Hawaii and Dr. Thomas Hatton of Perth, Australia; daughters-in-law Debbie Hatton of Honolulu and Dr. Judy Eastham of Australia; grandchildren Olivia Hatton and Brett Hatton of Honolulu; Louis Hatton and Rose Broome-Hatton of Australia; sister Norma Martinetti of Hollister; brothers Louis Trebino of Auburn, John Trebino of Hollister, and Anthony Trebino of La Grange, Calif.; sisters-in-law Janice Trebino of Hollister and Ann Trebino of LaGrange.
As per Louise’s wishes arrangements have been made for cremation through Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home and Crematory with private entombment at Calvary Mausoleum.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial celebration of her life on Thursday, August 19 at 1:30 p.m. at the chapel of the
Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home. Memorials are preferred to the Louis and Josephine Trebino Memorial Nursing Scholarship at Gavilan College, the Hazel Hawkins Hospital Foundation, the Hospice, or Cancer Society c/o the mortuary chapel.
