Raymond A. Barbosa died Nov. 4th in Hollister. He was born in California and was 78 years old. He was a longtime resident of San Juan Bautista and worked in trucking service for many years. He attended Mission San Juan Bautista, liked woodworking, fishing and camping and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed travelling the United States and Mexico with his brothers. Mr. Barbosa served in the US Army during WWII.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Rodolfo Barbosa of Redding, CA, Jesus and Linda Barbosa of Morgan Hill, Art Barbosa of San Juan Bautista, Virginia Barbosa of San Juan Bautista and Esther and Paul Hill of Hollister, his brothers and sister, John Barbosa of Santa Maria, Frank Barbosa of Gilroy, Linda Casillas of Reno,NV, Phillip Barbosa of Shafter and Ray Barbosa of Modesto. He is also survived by his close friend and companion, Carmen Rodriguez of San Juan Bautista.

He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Esperanza and a grandson, Nicholas Barbosa.

Friends can pay their respects on Monday, Nov. 8, 2004 from noon until 9pm at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home in Hollister.

The Rosary will be at 7pm at the funeral home.

The Mass will be on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004 at 10am at Old Mission San Juan Bautista.

Friends can gather at the funeral home at 9:15am for a procession to the Church.

Interment and military rites will follow the mass at San Juan District Cemetery in San Juan Bautista.

Donations are preferred to the Visiting Nurses’ Association c/o Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home, 363 7th St. Hollister, CA 95023.
