Gilroy native Tony J. Rossi passed away Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2004
after a short illness at St. Louise Hospital in Gilroy. He was
94.
Rossi was born in Old Gilroy and graduated from San Ysidro School. He played baseball in the old baseball leagues in the South Valley area and was a World War II Army veteran. He also farmed row crops with his father and brothers in the Sheldon Avenue area for many years.

He was the dear brother of Mary C. Hyman of Gilroy and the late Loris and Martin Rossi. He was the uncle of Rudy Rossi and his wife Kathy of Sparks, Nev., Jim Morris and his wife Mary Ann of Hollister, Joanne Medina of Gilroy and the late Brent Hyman and his wife Bonnie of Snelling, Calif. He was the great uncle of Sabrina Maderas and her husband Monty of Hollister, Randie Codiga and her husband Mark of Gilroy, Rick Medina and his wife Lori of Seaside, Shannon Neudeck of Gilroy, Julie Powell and her husband Vince of Oakdale, Calif. and Sara Hyman of Snelling. He was the great great uncle of three. He also was survived by many cousins.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 13, 2004 at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery under the direction of the Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy.
