Gilbert Zungia Jr. passed away at his home Sunday, Dec. 19 after
a sudden illness. He was a native of Gilroy and was 61 years
old.
Gilbert Zungia Jr. passed away at his home Sunday, Dec. 19 after a sudden illness. He was a native of Gilroy and was 61 years old.

He is survived by his wife Elva G. Zuniga and children Steve Zuniga and wife Tommie of Hollister, Gilbert Zuniga III and his wife Jodi of Hollister, Sonya De La Cruz and her husband Lino of Gilroy, Armando Zuniga of San Jose and Sylvia Zuniga of Gilroy, his mother Guadalupe Zuniga of Gilroy, grandchildren Grandfather of Camille & Janay Zuniga of Gilroy, Mario Zuniga of Modesto, Victoria Gaucin of Gilroy, Gilbert IV, Delene and Vincent Zuniga all of Hollister, Adrian & Adrianna Barrientos of Gilroy, Christopher & Nicholas De La Cruz both of Gilroy. Great-Grandfather of Nathaniel Garza, Anthony Gutierrez and Isabella Barro all of Gilroy. He is also survived by many other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his father Gilbert Zuniga Sr., his daughter Delia Zuniga, his brothers Alfonso, Robert, Marshall and Michael Zuniga and his sister, Carol Zuniga.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 23, 2004 starting at 12pm with an evening service at 7pm at Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 24 at 10:00am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park in Gilroy.

Gilbert was born & raised in Gilroy. He attended Gilroy schools and worked as a maintenance man for the City of Gilroy and the Rebekah’s Children’s Home also in Gilroy. He enjoyed fishing and being with his family.
