Former Gilroy resident Kathleen M. (Beckley) Santana died unexpectedly Monday, April 14, 2003 at her home in San Diego. She was 34.

Mrs. Santana was born in Michigan and moved to Gilroy when she was 8 years old. She attended Gilroy schools and graduated from Gilroy High School in 1987 and earned an associate’s degree in allied health from Gavilan College. She attended California State University, Fresno, where she was a competitive bowler. She enjoyed arts and crafts, scrapbooking and doll-making and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Rams.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Santana of San Diego; her daughter, Sarah Lorraine Santana of San Diego; her mother, Lorraine Beckley of Banning; her brothers and sisters, Kimberly Alvarado of Hollister, Timothy Beckley of Gilroy and Thomas Beckley of Phoenix, Ariz.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Beckley Sr.; and her son, Daniel Thomas Santana.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy. Funeral services will be held Saturday at noon at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Gilroy.

Memorials are preferred to the Crohn’s Disease and Colitis Foundation or the March of Dimes.
