Gary W. Jones died Friday, May 2, 2003 at Stanford University Medical Center after an illness of more than a year. He was 46.

Mr. Jones was born in Philadelphia, Pa. and had lived in Hollister for seven years. He was a fire equipment inspector for Honeywell, which manufactures fire detection equipment, and had earlier worked for First Alarm and Pacific Bell as an installer, Charter Communications and 400 Liggett in Lockwood. He was an avid gardener and handyman.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Dolores Fuentes-Jones of Hollister; his children, Yvette Fuentes, Tracy Fuentes and Robert T. Gomes, all of Hollister; his brother, Charles Jones Jr. of Sacramento; another brother, three sisters, three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services and cremation have been held through Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial at sea is planned for a later date.
