The Hollister Police Department is asking the public to help
find a wanted felon who reportedly rammed his car into a house
early Tuesday morning.
Investigators said they are stepping up their search for Jose
Angel Garcia for the incident on the 1200 block of Tamara
Court.
At approximately 2:20 a.m., police were called out to the home
on Tamara Court where a Mercury Tracer struck a support beam.
The Hollister Police Department is asking the public to help find a wanted felon who reportedly rammed his car into a house early Tuesday morning.
Investigators said they are stepping up their search for Jose Angel Garcia for the incident on the 1200 block of Tamara Court.
At approximately 2:20 a.m., police were called out to the home on Tamara Court where a Mercury Tracer struck a support beam.
Investigators said the car was intentionally run into the home because someone had wedged a large brick on top of the gas pedal and put the car into gear. After the car struck the building, the driver, believed to be Garcia, fled the scene.
Police said they can not release the details on how they know Garcia was responsible for the Tracer being used as a weapon, but they do want him for questioning in the incident.
Garcia, 26, is described as a medium-complexion Hispanic male who stands about 5-feet, 8-inches tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds and having a shaved head. Garcia, who is already wanted for violating his probation and on multiple felony charges, is the same person who was taken into custody on July 10 after holing police at bay for nearly four hours outside his home on Suiter Street where he reportedly threatened to kill himself following a domestic dispute. Garcia is also wanted for a domestic violence incident on July 24,
He is aslo suspected of being the person who made a homemade bomb and left it in his car the next day on July 25, police said. At about 6:30 a.m., the Santa Clara County Sheriff Department’s bomb squad removed the explosive device from the car and transported it to an open field next to Calaveras School and exploded the device, police said.
Police said Garcia should be considered mentally unstable and probably armed. Police advise anyone who sees Garcia, not to try and arrest him themself.
